Dry Well For Gutters

Essentially a dry well takes the water coming off of your home when it rains and drains it away from your home to a tank and gravel pit.

Place the dry well in the hole making sure the end of the perforated pipe extends into the dry well. A dry well is an excellent way to divert water runoff from your roof away from your home and yard. Once the stone is filled as full as it can get with water it then begins to back water up into the pipe. Install any necessary fittings and adapters to the end of the downspout. Water collects inside the cavity and drains gradually into the soil in the area. Lay pipes into trench.

Set the plastic cover onto the dry well and tap it down. As the trench gets closer to the dry well make the trench slightly deeper and slightly wider to ensure no water leeches back towards the house. The dry well is a large hole in the ground that you backfill with rock old brick and stone.
