Single wall stove pipe radiates more heat into the room than double wall stove pipe and requires 18 clearance from combustible surfaces where double wall stove pipe. Double wall stove pipe is used to make the connection from the chimney or chimney kit to the appliance in the final interior run. Stove pipe is used from the top of the woodstove or freestanding fireplace to the bottom of the ceiling or wall where it will connect to class a chimney pipe or a masonry chimney.
